SRC Member Angel Keeper Posted October 18, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 18, 2014 If you have algae issues, the algae may cover the branches and the polyps won't and can't extend out. So nitrate and phosphate are huge issues with sea fans. SRC Member Angel Keeper Posted October 20, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted October 20, 2014 Just a few pointers on keeping of non-photosynthetic gorgonians... 1. Feed twice a week with coral food. 2. Light doesn't really matter. I've placed it in high light and low light and it still stays the same. 3. Watch out for high nutrients environment. Once algae grows on the branches, it may stop extending its polyps. Sounds easy? Try feeding twice while maintaining low nutrients environment... LOL! So if you have an oversized skimmer, an excellent system to handle nutrients and bioload, then Welcome to the Gorgonians Club!
