multiple firefish?

Hi everyone. I know this has been discussed before but I've read many conflicting statements.

Just want to find out if anyone has successfully kept more than 5 firefishes for more than 6 months before?

I bought 3 firefishes yesterday and they are in my 2ft QT at the moment.
Planning to get more when my 4ft tank is ready in a couple of months time.

Just googled and seems that Manila Ocean Park is able to keep many firefish in 1 tank.

hv 6 fire fishes over 8 months

i had 2 ...one chased the other.. & bit him till it died...

Maybe 3 or more would be a better idea!

Someone once told me that damsels cannot be put together or they would fight due to their territorial nature... That same person also told me if I wanted more than one in a tank, I'll need to get a school of damsels... So territories cannot be staked out by one individual... Maybe Fire Gobies can use the same theory?

6 firefishes for 8 months. I remember reading somewhere that it is avisable to keep odd numbers so that they don't pair up and fight till the last fish stands. So I guess that is another myth busted?

Thanks bro Angel Keeper. Someone with experience of keeping multiple cichlids said the same thing as well..

No problem. I once had more than 30 cichlids in one tank. If I had not known better, I would have suspected orgy parties...
