Wanted Mantis shrimp

If you happen to catch this shrimp in your tank, please do not kill it. You can put it in a separate container and pm me and I will collect it from you. I can also give you a small token or do a swop with you. Let me know what you want.

why dun you buy them? .. there seems to be quite a few here and there.. somemore got many different types..

why not just buy one? the ones found in LR are usually unattractive, and too small if you want to watch them killing prey such as FW crayfish

a peacock mantis shrimp can cost as low as 12 bucks. saw at L35 b4. both male and female.

i bought mine for slightly more. a 5 inch long female.

Got another one much much smaller....

Its smaller pincer kena broken by the bigger one when i put them together.....

How do you tell a male from a female?

males have 2 gonopods between the last pair of walking legs.

yeah... definitely not a mantis shrimp. mantis are not so easy to catch too, btw.

Saw lots of mantis shrimps at T*p*c Mar*ne at Pasir Ris. May be they selling the mantis for BBQ

Peacock mantis.. rainbow have them quite frequently. Saw a few time I went there but that was quite long ago.

you can try the farms at Pasir Ris.. see them selling almost everytime.

those at sealife are not peacock mantis... they are the common spearer type.
