Using a beckett to make a dual skimmer...

I wan thinking DIYing a dual beckett skimmer... Was think can i use one beckett to make the foam and using a T joint to separate the foam into two different chamber... Will this affect the effectiveness...

Instead of using 2 reactor chambers, why not jus build one with a bigger body diameter.....

2 important aspects to good skimmer designs....

1) bubble/foam size

2) bubble contact time with water...

try getting the bubbles as small/foamy as possible and get it to maintain longer contact time with solution...

this can be done either with a tall reactor chamber or simply a larger diameter cylinder where water is forced to move in a circular motion in the chamber...

Erm..so far..even at the TMSI at st. john's island...I have seen their filtration setup..their skimmers also single body column only wat..you want to separate the foam into 2 diff body columns?

1.5 ft is too short....it will be best to maximise the usage if you are using a beckett.

I suggest your body height to be around 2.5ft++

No Space liao... Unless put outside of the tank... 2.5ft is long... Wonder where i get such a long tubing...

This idea would work based on the design given but whether its improves the skimming efficiency is doubtful...

As long as the the 2 chambers are linked as one unit, the water level should level out....

A single chamber would however grant you much more reaction space for the foam to reacted with giving you better results....

Hmmm... So one chamber is still better... Will imitate PM skimmer design.....
