i used microbacter7 to cycle tank too. mix salt i personally uses red sea salt and will switch to skimz salt (good reviews so far). if you don't wish to dose yet want to maintain high parameters (big 3) can try Red sea coral pro salt.

Hi Senior reefer, I have a 1.5ft new cube.. Need advice for better mix salt & bacterial for tank cycling.. Is there any recommendation..? Thanks..

Hi Bro,

I just started a tank of the same dimension as well. Used skimz salt as it's the most cost effective based on my research. For cycling, I used prodibio start up with caribsea live sand. Hope this helps.

I switched from red sea coral to the pro version....noticed polyp open better...but for pro cannot mix for too long in your container if not the water will get cloudy..also...before using the salt remember to roll the barrel around couple of times to make sure the salt is properly as during storage the ingredients might settle down leading to inconsistent parameters
