Is it necessary to have phosphate and nitrate removers?

If yes, which brand is recommended?

It is necessary to remove phosphate and nitrate for the good health and growth of the corals and other inhabitants in your tank.

A reactor is an item that will help run the removal media.

If u are using media that does not require a reactor then u don't need a reactor.

There are many ways and means to remove nitrate and phosphate, google it and choose the best method for your tank.

Is Rowaphos and Seachem pho sugared good to use?

Seachem phosguard, I mean ...

If I remember correctly , rowaphos is iron based and phosguard is aluminum based. Both works in removing phosphate . Both have their pros an cons ..

the norm in a marine tank are 2 reactors , one rowaphos (phosphate removal) the other biopalets (nitrate removal)
