What's that at the bottom of the skimmer ? Izzit bare tank or gravel?

Oh I put filter media in bags but just as I took out the skimmer I accidentally knocked someone onto the bottom

Ok , for overflowing problem your water outlet might be blocked by those media.

For big bubbles problem , your air intake might be blocked , or there is something wrong with the impeller (foreign object stuck in there)

I realised that the pump was placed below the holes unlike what ypur picture showed. Hopefully that settles the problem

There should be something stuck in the inlet to the impeller. I once had Cheato stuck at the inlet and the bubbles produced were big ones... You shouldn't have to keep washing it...

I suspect that too. I took a part the whole thing and I fixed it back, didn't find anything. Now it's in the bucket with distilled vinegar ajd it's producing really nice micro bubbles... I don't want to take it out and I'll just see how it works tomorrow. Currently I'm at a lost for words
