Recently, got 2 unit of Jebao RW-15 and realize that I couldn't mount them using the magnet cos my tank is 12mm thick and there is another 12mm thick of wood which is the cabinet.

Tried to source for strong magnet but clueless... Unlike Tunze, seem like there is no other way of mounting the jebao wavemaker. Can anyone advise if there is a way to overcome this?

Thanks in advance!

Just happened to me but less the 12mm wood. Here's what I was suggested to do and it worked in 12mm glass alone.

Hmm... is this a magnet cleaner? Does it mean you still manage to use the magnet cleaner to attach on both side? I thought of this before but as my thickness is around 1", can't seem to mount any magnet at all.

can you just remove the magnet and use it as a suction plate on the glass? it works on my RW4

As RW-15 is heavier, not too sure without the magnet, just the suction alone is good enough to hold the wavemaker.

weight in saltwater shall be lighter than in land (i guess), else you can try buy a second hand cheaper wavemaker like sun sun which the holder are those suction plate but with a knob to press against the glass to tighten it, those shall be strong enough. just make sure the holder are the same as your RW. (I know hydor and jebao holder are inter exchangeable)

子非鱼,焉知鱼之乐... (you are not the fish so you...)

Then: my 4FT low tech selling off tank... (2006)

Now: (2014)
