Thanks guys, especially marinebetta again for the male Yashia.

I'll have to keep the fat and happy, then perhaps they'll go the same way as the Nassarius

Had to wake up 3am to take these pictures, think I can conclude these guys are either nocturnal, or really timid. I have resorted to pasting black cardboard to the tank to help acclimitise the male ;)

Razo, I do not think you will regret it, as long as you can setup a species only tank, after that, welcome to many sleepless nights and many a camera clicking :D

The Male Yashia is supposed to have a distinguishing black rim along its ventral fin.

It has yet to be confirmed but has been touted in RC. I have a few shots, but its not as clear as I liked. Till my sleepless night then

Do post a picture of yours soon :)

Fuel, even if so, I would be looking foward to more pictures of your Yashias :P

Razo, you will need a butler to keep the place in order, get a Pistol Shrimp. Watch out for the pictures of my Neon Goby, coming to a thread near you :D

Razo, edited the post for you :P

The fishes will swim where they like, lower light, more food perhaps. I have another shrimp-goby pair which was facing the back of the tank. It has re-oriented themselves already to face the front.

(Edwin, you can stop laughing now :D )

hamannbmw, that is quite a number of casualties, is yours a species only Goby tank? If you do not have shrimps, you can try the bottle trick.

Thanks Rumour,

I'm considering using the bottle tricks this weekend, i have the following in my tank now, other than corals,

1 X yashias

1 X yellow clown goby

5 X ###### shrimps

1 X porcelian crab

1 X pom pom crab

2 X harlequin (pair)

1 X fire shrimps

1 X cleaner shrimps

The rest of the gobies RIP :cry2:

I'm worried about the ammonia level if i place a market shrimp using the bottle trick, cos mine is a 2 X 1 X 1 tank.

hamannbmw,

If that worries you, you can always throw in a trusty Polyfilter to help the system cope. Otherwise, you can always do a stakeout on the bottle after lights out. Just that your ornamental shrimps may get to them first.

Dan,

Thanks, a pair of these will fit nicely into your SPS bonsai tank :)

Wecome to the goby club...you have been converted! Anyway..just a suggestion..maybe you might want to put some crab traps to trap any possible crabs before rushing to buy your gobies.. You won't want them to end up MIA..

Edwin from Paradiz Reef is also another Goby nut, he has some High Fin Black Antenna Goby paired with Candy Striped Pistol Shrimps that you can consider. Eviotas will make excellent addition, but I must stress its very very small, feeding requirement is still being examined.

You can look at my goby threads to get some ideas, or you can try Goby Frontier. You'll be surprised to know there is a Goby Institute and a Goby Society :)

SURPRISE !!!!!

Paired Yashia which may or may not be accompanied with a pair of Alpheus Randalli :yeah: ... how's that for a match made in Atlantis?

Here's a picture of them feeding at different station, but essentially shares the same burrow.
