What is the appropriate readings in keeping corals and fish? Need some advice or website. My tank is 2ft x 1.5 x 1 with sump.

Nitrite (NO2) - 0
Nitrate (NO3) - 2
Salinity - 24

u might want to get 0 ammonia and nitrite. the rest depends what livestocks u want to keep.

Hi clement thanks for ur advise. Btw i have cycle my tank for 1 week. Is it safe to put fish and corals for now? Wat corals do u recommend?

dun think so. it seems ur ammonia not 0 yet. must wait till completely 0. slowly add. maybe can start with easy corals. bubbles and zoas

Let the tank run for another 2 weeks. Put some bacteria in daily help speed up the cycle. Be patient. To keep LPS, it depend on what is ur tank temp. If 30 deg, it may survive but color will lost and it wouldn't open much.

Be diligent with the filter wool change from the overflow, any accumulation of detritus or waste on the deep sand / coral chips bed in the first compartment is going to be a nitrate/phosphate factory after 1-2 years time.

u can buy liquid bacteria to speed up cycling for the shops.

Shd i remove the coral chips and replace to other things?

If you keep your filter cool clean then no issue with keeping the coral chips, in fact its a good bio-filtration. But if you allow detritus to breakthrough the wool then it will have nagetive impact after a period of time. No right No wrong, just husbandry

What is best salinity reading for keeping marine fish and corals?

Magic figure is 1.024-1.026. Some ppl go to as low as 1.022. More important is the consistency.

Btw how do i increase my salinity? Add salt only to my main/sump tank or add seawater to my main/sump?

Add more salt during mix

Do not add salt directly to DT or sump.
