Oh . Any model to intro me ? My it's a 2 feet cube .

I think skimz has a good range of CR to choose from. If u got a larger budget, can consider schrun pico CRs.

Bro the skim is get from where ? Madpet or ?? May I know the price too ?

Skimz can get from aquamarin. I not sure what's the price. But it should fall into the more affordable range of crs that is locally available. Else many other times, I notice most of sg reefers import their higher end crs at a higher cost.

Yeah, due to the technicality of CRs, guess is best to check it often. I tend to check my cr as one of my daily routine when I get home from work. Just ensuring the effluent is still flowing, and the recirculating pump is working. If stop for a day, already drastic enough changes on the kh due to the high consumption! But I still prefer cr over other methods as its really does the job perfectly without requiring constant monitoring all the time on the KH and CA.

I have a ph monitor, but dont really use it anymore. No money for apex! Budget reefing. hahahaha.

Usually I can see when something is not right in the tank....than i start measuring and getting the ohhhhh fff*****k look on my face.

Ohhh YESSS the OMF look...

But invest in a ph monitor lah dude... Cause at least for me, as my Apex monitors the ph in my cr, all I do is on the app then see if there's a dip between 230pm - 445pm and if the range is between 7.0-7.4 then I'll know everything is okay... I reckon this part is very essential because effluent may be flowing but overdose of co2 is always the killer for cr users...

And to answer killernano's qns, yes a cr is very stable... Till date I only measure my kh and left the rest to God... Nothing to worry... Kh Swee Swee 8.3-8.5...

time to invest in an Apex or get your ph monitor going.

Trigger point will be any ph spike or ph dip means something is working or not working.

Very convenient.

Good advise. why didn't i think of that earlier lol. ..

Hi bro, I feed my anthias twice a day, once in the noon with Frozen, just one cube. And once more in the evening with pellets. Have not lost any anthias by far since i starting this feeding schedule.

Hi bro, wondering hw much u paid for the anthias? Color is so vibrant

Hi bro Zhi Long, I got it at a good price from a friend =D Im sure its not very costly, but i dont see it often brought in.

So not everything always goes smooth sailing in my tank.

Recently, I've been really busy with both a day and night job. So I have neglected the tank a fair bit, missing out on water changes and not replacing my zeovit media. This has resulted in a bunch of nuisance algae. I manage to combat these algae, but most recently lost both my Birdnest Colonies. Both birdnest started to stn and it just kept going. Honestly, I am baffled by this, as all my other sps corals are extremely fine and healthy, and birdnest are supposedly the easiest corals to satisfy.

I lost my entire fiji round tip Pink Birdnest. No pic of that.

Lost half of my radio active Birdnest.

Also some of you may know by now, i broke apart my pacman coral accidentally while trying to frag a piece. Heres a pic of my sales post. Breaks my heart!

So back to current mode of the tank, heres some shots, all pictures taken with Iphone 6 camera

Ive also added a mix of Montipora caps ( chilli pepper, lengsy, galaxy and couple unknown ones) all around, they are all pretty small now, but I'll be excited to see how it turns out in a couple of months. The Monti at the back of my back is already oversized, and still going strong!

Before i end this post, I just like to warn people how dangerous introducing xenia to the tank is. Xenia currently is my no1 pest, worst than algae. Its overtaking my right scape, and pretty much nothing i can do about it. I will be changing the entire right scape and removing the rock. Only one problem, its a giant one piece rock which I am afraid will cause a BIO Imbalance in the system upon removal.

Any suggestions???

Had some time to spend with the tank today to clean up abit.

Cleaned up my CR and refilled with some new media. Replaced with a brand new ehiem 1250 pump as the old one had impeller issues, as well as new hose and O ring. Tested for leaks overall, and good to go for many more months!

IMG_0975.thumb.JPG.ed2ce299c4f8e2f1e3c89

Emptied out my Frag tank and replace with new frag stand. Realise I lost couple of frags due to my negligence. =(

Went looking for some live rocks the day before, Iwarna didn't have the shapes I wanted, t95 and AM was out of stock...

I ended up with these caribsea life rocks, I actually have mixed feelings about these rocks. http://www.caribsea.com/pages_caribsea/page_product_liferock_original.html

Good: Great shapes, good weight, Pest free, does not require intense curing methods.

Bad: Has this epoxy coat of paint around it to give the coralline look (not a fan of this), I think the coat inhabits and covers alot of natural pore network. Im not sure about the chemical composition that the epoxy may contain.

Nonetheless, I ended up purchasing 13kgs worth and thought i give it a try. I'll share with u guys later down the road if its actually worth it weight.

Here's the rocks being cycled just to seed it and leech out anything it may contain out of the box.

I am also in the process of trapping some fishes out of the DT just to reduce the bioload in preparation for the right scape removal.

Haha yeah...Im not sure about many reefers out there. But i enjoy rescaping if the need arises. A fresh look gives a brand new tank feel. Sometimes seeing the same scape over and over daily makes the tank boring.

I got some exciting plans for this right scape =D Hope it turns out well.

Here's the culprit xenia that is causing me to do a rescape on the right.

IMG_1137.thumb.JPG.6c9675648014b840ed516

And the monti that is growing huge at the back, cant really see from the front view of the tank. Sadly, I will have to risk breaking it during the rescape

So here we go again for round 3! Thanks to the culprit below

IMG_2202_(1).thumb.JPG.2e2f0a52f3b610650

Also took the opportunity to coral dip one of my corals that didnt look too good. Luckily, the dip yield no positive results of aefw. I did a 10ml/400ml - 10mins dipp.

IMG_2201.thumb.JPG.439341d28d37e3f69a883

So First thing I did was remove the entire right scape and placed the corals back in the tank

IMG_2205.thumb.JPG.5a8c9571884bf989a3c4b

IMG_2204.thumb.JPG.d6763f41642aaa0d38a0c

The final Product after 5 long hours. I kinda like this new scape as it allows for plenty more room for the stags to grow.

IMG_2218.thumb.JPG.8c689563c5b70016c779d

IMG_2230.thumb.JPG.d6f842d1c5aef2c6e9aac

IMG_2231.thumb.JPG.54e24c9940ca593bc8b0d

Now hopefully I can keep my hands out of the tank for at least another year. Im tired of rescaping.
