Need recommendations for LED Deepblue Lighting effect solution

Recommended Posts

Hi reefers,

I am seeking recommendations for a LED lighting solution to create a deepblue effect for my 3ft fowlr setup.

Currently using T5HO fixture and this LED would be a supplement.

Looking for a economical solution.

Anyways, are those outdoor LED strips feasible?

Do those strips come in 3W blue LEDs? Where can I find those?

Thanks in advance!

Bro, if you only need to have the blue effect visually then any led can do the job.

But if you talking about useful led light then you need at less 3 w per led but no mor then

5 w per led.

Base on 3w to 5w per litre you can count the number led require to make up the total wattage

you need for your tank

6.5 * 2 * 2 + 3.75 * 1.5 *1.5,(Decomn on 14/9/08)
4*2*2 + 2.5*1.25*1.25 (Decomn on 1/8/09)
5*2*2 (Fully LED light system, 140 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)
2.5*2*2(Fully LED Light System,96 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)

5*2.5*2(LED only)

Eheim return 1 * pump

1 HP Daikin compressor with cooling coil
2 Jebao OW40, 1 ecotech MP40,
1X6085 Tunze wm,

1 CURVE 7 Skimmer

1 DIY 80 led control by Bluefish mini

1 radion XR30W G2, 2 Radion XR15G3

Sump area lite by 5 ft T5 , 6 * SSC 3 watt red LED for refugium

1 Full spectrum E27 led light

1 CR control by bubble count

Start No Water Change since 1st Dec 2016

Add new 2.5x2x 1.5 ft

Thanks for the advice, Sherman. My tank is 322 and actually my current T5HO do have 1w of blue Led for moonlight effect. But I'm not happy with the effect and wants a deeper blue effect. Based on what you have recommended, does it mean that I need 325L x 3W = 975W?

That is your total light requirement.

For moon light I also using 1 watt led.

I find the effect more natural. If you use 3 watt

you have to dim down till you get the natural effect

6.5 * 2 * 2 + 3.75 * 1.5 *1.5,(Decomn on 14/9/08)
4*2*2 + 2.5*1.25*1.25 (Decomn on 1/8/09)
5*2*2 (Fully LED light system, 140 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)
2.5*2*2(Fully LED Light System,96 3 watt SSC leds with 60 degree lens)(Decomm)

Thanks, sherman.

3W led with dimmer seems to work better for me since I can control the blue effect.
