Coralline Algae on SPS

Hi, has anyone ever encountered coralline algae on their sps (base, tip or middle)? I currently am facing such a situation where the coralline algae is growing on the base of a birdnest. I'm not sure if it is spreading but I would like to know why this is happening, how it can be avoided and what should I do to help that birdnest now. Tried googling but not much returns :/

Here's a pic (sorry it's pretty bad as it's from my ipod):

it grows typically on the dead parts of sps.

Cut them away. Probably coralline encrusted on it due to the part was oredi dead or about to die and bad flow too.

It happens in any tank, including mine.

Ya I agree with fuel, let nature take its course. But ultimately, you need to find out what causes the dead portion at the bottom of the bn. Like what yellowtang mention, high possibility it might be flow.
