dirty oil like things in my tank!

recently i notice that theres a layer of oil like kind on the opposite end of the IOS in my tank....water moment is quite strong..

using tunzy 6000l/hr and a returnpump 1500l/hr..

im topping up water everyday..

is that the problem? or is it my skimmer is underskimming or its due to my corals giving me such problem? plz help..

maybe the oil come from your pump or ph.??

just do a water change should be ok..

do a search.. i saw a thread about oil like stuff on water surface sometime back..

Re u using overflow ? If yes, the current is not pushing that pool of oil down back into the overflow. Or alternatively, try to use a PH to blow near to the water surface to create ripple current

if u mean the layer of oil is after the overflow n at the last compartment with the return pump issit?

overflow is supposed to overflow oil in ur main tank.... this just means that the oil is not well captured by filter wool...

use those more compact filter wool n try to scoop the layer of oil out whenever u change ur water loh

otherwise if u mean opposite end as in at ur main tank then try heeding hotsoup's advice
