Hi all,

Corals not doing well in my tank, so quickly perform water check this afternoon.

Here's the finding:

1) Salinity - 1.023

2) Nitrite - 0

3) Nitrate - 0

4) Ammonia - 0.25

5) KH - 9

6) Phosphate - 1.0

7) Ca > 520 (beyond the max indicated by the API test chart)

8) PH - 7.4

Calsium is very high, PH at the lower range.

Need advice from bro/ sis, how to reduce the Ca and increase PH.

Thank you.

Measure your new salt mix water parameters with same salinity as your main tank. PH, KH, Ca

It's best that you do atleast a 50% water change if not most of your coral is not going to survive. There is a build up of something in the tank also hence your ammonia level. How long you have this tank and the size ?

I would think that ammonia should be '0' - need for more life rocks. Phosphate or nitrate got digit gotta WC (water change). That's the traditional way. Bio-tech way is to fix a ats, no wc.

Sodium bi dose until u get 8.2-8.4.

Cal stop dosing for the moment.

Test your magnesium. :)

Hi all, Many thanks for your advice. So far few LPS can not make it, luckily not much corals inside my tank. No issue on the fishes at this point of time, still eating greedy. Do a major water change today, approximately 50% as suggested. Will try to get new test kit to measure the water parameter again. Thinking to buy Hanna Checker due to the accuracy, may i know which shop selling it.. Thank you.
