1) pour sand in a pail and wash with some tank water (best if u can do it during water change time)

2) Switch off all wavemakers & return pump.

3) remove all corals that are place on the tank btm. Leave the live rock as it is.

4)locate a spot with the least coral

5) scoop small cup of sand, submerge into tank and pour slowly to that spot

6) use hand to spread the sand across the tank.

Wash the sand with tank water, then try this.

1) cut the bottom of a 1.5l pet bottle to make a full opening.

2) tighten the bottle cap, then fill the bottle with the sand.

3) lower the bottle vertically down with bottle cap pointing downwards.

4) when cap is touching tank bottom, uncap the bottle and allow sand to slowly flow out.

Control flow of sand by lifting or lowering the bottle on tank bottom.

You have to get marine sand from aquarium shop. Quite sure irwana, pets mart or any shop sell them. The sand comes in different coarseness graded as c1 to c4. Just go there n choose the size that suit u. My advice is dont choose too fine sand if your return pump is too strong else sand will be flying everwhere. Too coarse n debris will get stuck inside. Hope tis helps
