Actually I had bought one from a fellow reefer. He casually remarked that he 'heard' that this type of pump can suddenly stopped working.

To be more precise, the one which I bought from the Ng couple is still alive but the 2nd hand one is now in the dustbin after running for around

3mths. Pound foolish penny wise?

Getting pre-owned equipment always carry the risk of malfunctioning. It's a trade off on costs. You mitigate by testing, getting some warranty from seller and/or get those reputable brands. It's a hit and missed thingy.

Its Heng suay one la. I know of jebao wavemakers lasting over a yr, and some spoil within few months. I got two running, both the power output not as strong as when i first purchased, but still running fine. Its affordable wavemaker compared to higher end ones like vortech or tunze. U can't expect it to match up in terms of reliability or quality, but functionality, it does a good job for its price.

Hi bro, think maybe you can try washing them. Washed mine(soaked in vinegar for 2hours) and both works like brand new (touch wood)

1 is coming to almost 10 months and the other is about 6....
