SRC Member fishcake Posted June 17, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted June 17, 2014 Skeleton showing on green short tentacle plate coral Got it from Iwarna 2 days ago. opened up and fed it mysis straight away. gobbled the whole lot up. My tank parameters after testing today again is : Ammonia: 0 Nitrate: 10ppm Nitrite: 0 Ph: 8.3 Phosphate: 0.03 Calcium: 360 ( a bit low but i topped it up already) Salinity is gd. Temp is between 22 and 24 Degrees Celsius. I am not sure why its dying. could it be bacterial infection or the sexy shrimp stepping on it? How sensitive is it to flow rates? How do i save it!! qianjun
Mine is happy in medium flow. Sometimes after eating alot they will hide in their skeleton then come out the next day. Unless ur skeleton means the flesh eroding and turning white. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
SRC Member fishcake Posted June 17, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 17, 2014 Fleshing looks like is disappearing and showing white skeleton. Has not opening up either.
SRC Member clownfish_forever Posted June 17, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted June 17, 2014 I got mine from GO and faced the same issue. Then I realized my KH went too low so I started dosing it up. My KH is at the ideal level yet but the plate survived. In fact I am seeing repair for past 1-2 month. I hoping soon the white skeleton will be covered up. So yes, it can recover but you need to find the problem. Mine is near or wave maker so I think can withstand medium flow. SRC Member fishcake Posted June 18, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 18, 2014 Good New Everyone! All i needed to do is move the plate coral to a location with lower flow. it is eating again and its tentacles are out. turns out..they are super sensitive to current. SRC Member Firestarter Posted June 20, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted June 20, 2014 You using chiller or aircon to cool the tank? 22'c is kinda low.
