High nitrate level

Been 6 weeks into cycling. Check no3 reading 4th week.. 40ppm . And into 5 and 6 week. reading is about 60ppm on Api test kit. Even after 50% Wc.. No3 will shot back to 60ppm in few days (5-6).. Live stock: 1 cleaner shrimp 4 sexy shrimp 1 porcelain crab and 2 snail. Feed only once a day with pellet or mysis shrimp.. Skimmer on the way .. Order from ebay.. Tank is 2 feet with built in IOS.. Is there any other way to bring down no3 beside water change?

Bro, u got no skimmer so water change is crucial now..u got test ur new water nitrate level?..maybe the nitrate level not low oso..to reduce NO3, can use biosphere..cheers

Try dosing better quality bacteria like the ones from Prodibio and put some Polylab biosphere your iOS.

This may be old skool but it takes about 6 months to properly cycle a new tank unless u r using sea water and live rocks then maybe 1-2 months ok.

Ammonia 0 NO2 0 NO3 60.. PH 8.3 Temp 28-29 .. ONlY chemical is seachem Prime

Hi Bro, you can try polylab bio-sphere, you need to place it near your water flow area in your slump as its more effective with oxygen. That will be fastest and cheapest solution. Your No3 level is okay at the start, even mature tanks has it.. Not something that you need to be concern about..

Try to do abit of research on agale scrub, this is a long term solution to your worries..

Don't go get reactors for this.. It's a waste of money..

My resolution for high parameter 1) Biopellets (NP pellets) 2) nitrate/ammonia/phosphate filter mat 3) de*nitrator 4) skimmer 5) macroalgae 6) no3 removal + liquid carbon 7) time (they require time to settle down)

Hi I use to have the same problem previously. You should get a protein skimmer it help to clean the water. N at the same time do a weekly 10% water change. It wont immediately nitrate drop. It's takes time to bring down. I hope this helps
