Swollen Belly Achilles Tang & Lump Growth on Regal

Hi reefers,

I have 2 problems:

1) My beloved AT has a swollen stomach for no reason. I have kept it for 8 months and all going well.

It is also breathing heavily with the bloated stomach. This has been on-going for the last 2 days and it has stopped eating.

2) My grey-bellied regal has developed a small lump on its body nearer to its tail area. The lump has caused some of its scale to rupture and tiny bits of its flesh can be observed. It is still eating and not breathing heavily.

The only thing which happened differently was that I added some market bought green mussels for my angels.

Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance!!!

Did u cook or boil the mussels before you feed them? Most likely is internal infection, if u can catch it out treat the Fish with yellow powder and cover it up with total darkness. This will reduce the stress.

Chances are slim but who know..

Thanks, Harlequin. I didn't cook the mussel and served it fresh. What yellow powder are you referring to? Can prazi do the same? The prazi did mention about treatment for swollen belly though...

i use Ocean free yellow powder since i find it not as harsh as other brand that i tried and you can safely overdose . Prazi can work , but my own experience with yellow powder is better and faster.

Usually you can see result within 48 hours, if the fish is not in serious condition .
