Tank cover for jumping fish

Hi, had a few jump out of my tank and I am thinking of getting a cover. However I do not want to use egg crates as it blocks a lot of light.

Found these ideas on the net. anyone has done this before? They say can use the window mesh holder, but I cant find any. Does anyone knows where to get it?

Looks like u need to DIY.

What I did was to DIY a 8 inch "wall" that runs around the tank. Don't think fish can jump 8 inch. For those that make it, they deserve to go to heaven

You can get this mesh from a US buyer. I am using this with velcro for my 1ft tank.

You will be surprise what u can find at daiso for diy stuff. A little improvisation is all u need.

Hey why not just buy those BBQ wire mesh from ntuc and Velcro from any sewing shop? Then cut it up and DIY. I think that may be cheaper than shipping from us..

yes. they will rust + they will block partial of your lights from going through. if you search for wire mesh tank cover. a lot of people in the states are using this clear mesh to make the tank cover. they even tested for the amount of light entering and this is better than egg crates and even glass cover.

Oh I see.. Sorry I didn't know that . It looked like any ordinary mesh cover from the picture and I was just wondering why you would want it shipped all the way from us.

Hi bro saw ur tank thread, can get a close up of the mesh you are using? and where you get. Most of the ones i see at e hardware of home fix stores have either too small holes or they have big holes but the material they use are very thick, and it blocks a lot of light. I am trying to find one with as minimal light blockage.

Hi, anyone succeeded in finding transparent mesh for cover?? Found one in Self fix in seragoon mrt nex mall near the bus interchange months before.. mistake i didnt buy that time.. now i guess the shop has been relocated... self fix boonlay doesn't have it..

I bought a transparent mesh and its very thin as well, so it doesnt block a lot of light. It is pretty ex as it is shipped from overseas. I have some left if u want pm me with ur tank size
