skimmer going crazy after addition of nitrate minus, phoslock, elimiph

yes I know I added quite a few things at once haha.

once I added these I noticed that my skimmer was running on overdrive, so I switched it off.

couple of hours later, I switched it on and its still foaming very vigorously.

any way I can rectify the problem?

I think u should let the skimmer run .. That's how u remove all the nitrate and phosphate from the water ..

agreed but its not working properly at all atm. it will just overflow and not remove anything from the water unless it settles down

I think you just went overkill on the amount of products bro. End of day you won't know which is actually beneficial to your system. Try using lesser commercial products, and a more natural export. I use 1 for nitrate and 1 for phosphate, rest is just down to husbandry

That aside, Algone will cause your skimmer to foam vigorously for couple of hours when just added. After awhile, it will be back to normal. Can't advice on the others.

could I know what product you used for phosphate?

Lol, yeah. I was shock to read so many products. I'm just using rowaphos for phosphate, algone for nitrates. I do however probiotic dose using polyplab reef resh. The key point I'm driving at is not to use so many products which serve the same purpose, as you wont know what is actually beneficial.

It's getting better after I tuned it up and is producing some yellowish water. Previously the water was black. But I think it's working

Hmmm, black water is good what. Well depends on what sort of skimmate u after. For faster export, i guess you will prefer yellowish, but have to empty collection cup more often
