I have a Duncan coral that used to open all the time, however ever since I stopped target feeding it does not open as often.

Is this normal? I have heard that it is not necessary to target feed Duncan.

Since you say after stopping feeding..Maybe your duncans are Accustomed To Being fed..But if you are not feeding they can slowly get used to it..no worries..But makesure to Check your water..So easier to troubleshoot if its not the feedings..

cheers

They have been like that even after a month. My nitrates and phosphates measure absolutely 0 with the D-D test kit, and KH, Ca and Mg levels are ok

True, I dipped it in a coral scrub before. Only thing I can think of is my orange spot filefish nipping it, but they eat exclusively sps isn't it. Mine feed on reef food coated on a sps skeleton

Thats Might be your Problem..Your Trates are at 0..Duncans Being LPS Need abit of Nitrates..So You Have to feed it..Keep a nitrate level about 1-3PPM Is Good For Mixreef..

cheers
