Honey & milk dosing

Recommended Posts

Haha, agreed. The silliness in me had taken a small step to try the untested method and update to share. And i see people who swear by the system of dosing which cause hundreds of peanuts to them (which normally had many bottles), which eventually give up and decomm. My apologies that i had taken valuable space in the server. I would stop updating.

Thanks to those who offered helps.

Got any negative comments? Maybe I auto skipped. Lol

I tried on the same night as I saw this post. So far 2 ml for my 500l tank for 2 days. Tonigjt will be 3rd dose.

No3 at 5ppm

Only change to my tank is skimmate increased that I have to clean every 3 days.

On vodka dosing as well for a month.

Lol, i feel that this can only go two ways....1: You dose too little, you don't even notice a difference. 2: You dose too much, something goes out of balance and crash.

Unlike aquarium products which is tested for amino acid concentration to suit the amount required per vol of tank, its hard to get the right equation with milk.

Personally i think i wont be comfortable adding anything that does not belong in the ocean into the ocean. But who knows maybe it does work, i.e VODKA!!!. Keep us updated. I may very well be wrong!

I agreed with the risk involved especially so for established and mature tank. Too much to lose if thing went wrong. For me is nothing to lose, lose no nothing. At most just 倒缸。of course i look out for sign of distress from fishes.

I'm glad this discussion opened up a new step towards tank dosing. To all skeptics, here's what I have to say.

10 years ago, mention about adding vodka into the tank and people will snigger at what a smug you are.

And 10 years later, people are doing it like the norm; and it works!

Don't be too quick to dismiss something that might seem insane - fail or succeed, its all part of learning in reefing. ;)

any idea what the preservatives and other stuff would do to the tank in long term?

Agree, Vodka is essentially in its purest form + distilled water, unlike milk .Thats why i'm skeptical about milk. Its what else is in there that I'm afraid of in a long term. But as bro Firestarter said, if we never try we never know, but my tank is way to small to risk, im glad we have kind bro willing to test this out for the benefit of us all here.

I am having fun copying the chinese text from his site into google translate and clicking on the speaker icon. The entire thing sound so techy.

This is what I know of the Taiwanese (and Thais to certain extend), when it comes to competitive hobbies, they have all sort of weird secret methodology. Back when I was racing RC cars on brushed motor, they have some strange secret sauce to make the motor 20% faster. Local racers were mostly out gunned.

I am sure there are a lot of pitfalls, not every tank is the same, plus, he did mention, the tank must be well stocked to absorb all that amino acid and proteins. Like Vodka, sure it works, your mileage may vary.

I won't call fellow reefers gullible and hesitate to dismiss this. I rather be an adult and be open minded and watch and learn. If Megacue dares to try, cheer him on, don't be a dick.

Dosing milk into an SPS tank with so many SSC? Admiration is dued.
