any method to eradicate marine worms?

I noticed from time to time, large worms will start to craw out of my live rock. I killed at least six of them today.

I am really worried that they will multiply beyond control and grow large enough to eat my fish.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Sorry just curious.....I wonder why they crawl out of your live rocks.

The only time I try to remove them is fresh water dip and they crawl out. Else they should be hiding in your rocks.

It's not very often that they come out. But very occasionally they do venture out to find food at night

Not sure what this is but looks like a bristle species. Do these come out at feeding time only or generally? Normally bristle worms are v good detirus feeders. If u have an explosion I'm population you are either over feeding or having too much detirus. ( do u use your hand when removing them and if yes does your hand itch?)

I have cut down on feeding a lot ever since I saw them. And no I use tongs to remove them. But this cannot be done in the tank as they move amazingly fast. What I do is take the rock out in a pail of water and watch them emerge. Longest one was nearly 2ft!

Could Be A Bobbit Worm.

Get A Fish Trap..And put The Trap On The sand..

Have you seen any injured fish corals or other livestock? Also how fat is it? On traps I have found test tubes with corks to work best for worms. But if u r saying it is 2 ft, then even a bottle may not help... Fish trap perhaps!!!

And yes bobbit is the best bet... If they r super quick then that's it.. Also try sifting the sand they prefer sand bed to rocks..
