Lesson learned since 2017

1. Stable parameters is more important then correct parameter

2. Dirty water is better then nutrient strip water.

Hence if you need any adjusting to any of parameters do it gradually over a period 
of time.
Do not correct so fast in order to meet your desire or sweet point.

For new setup tolerate a period of failure and ugliness can go a long way towards better
understanding of your livestocks requirements.

Power filter is any pump (especially your return pump) where the input has filter wool to filter the water before it enter the pump.

In this way the discharge water into the main tank filtered.

Additional pumps can be located at the display tank to further filtered  the display tank water

How frequent is the wool change? Do you reuse/wash the wool?

Fjdam I think it is cheaper and faster to remove and replace.

Filter are cheap.

I am changing every 2 to 3 weeks

No fix duration. Observe the water discharge of your pump.

If it drop then its time to replace your filter wool

1. Your total tank volume
2. Your NO3 level now
3. You running refugium or chaeto
4. You using any PO4 and NO3 reactor
5. Are u using skimmer for nutrients export?

my tank is 4 x 2 x 2ft. Total volume around 500Litres

NO3 around 80ppm

Just started cheato with light

Also, started using BP reactor, not using Rowaphos as Phosphate is 0.03

Yes, I have Skimz skimmer

Mine is Fish only with live rocks tank. No corals at all. Thinking to start Corals, thats why trying to bring down the NO3.
