Today is 1st Jan 2018. 1 year 1 month no water change.
All is ok.
PO4 and NO3 is within range. No unnecesssary algae growth
Will try to get some photos later when the light is on

First casualty for 2018
My gyre stop working on 5th Jan 2018
Today morning remove the gyre for cleaning then troubleshoot.
But found one of the wire going into the gyre pump is broken

Lesson learned since 2017

1. Stable parameters is more important then correct parameter

2. Dirty water is better then nutrient strip water.

Hence if you need any adjusting to any of parameters do it gradually over a period 
of time.
Do not correct so fast in order to meet your desire or sweet point.

For new setup tolerate a period of failure and ugliness can go a long way towards better
understanding of your livestocks requirements.

I just take from the freezer and throw the cubes into the feeder.

After a minute or so it start to defrost and the wave will push it slowly through the 

mesh.

Make my job easier and tank cleaner

2nd month of 2018.

13 plus month of no water change.

Everything still ok. No major issue.

Will continue with no water change.

Now water is clean by power filter before return to display tank.

(Glenn Fong method, Power filter)

I might make some changes here after seeing the rollermat filter.

This should be 2nd DIY for 2018.
