Hi bros and sisters,

Thought of starting a thread here for reefers who is using or considering using this system to share experience and knowledge.

Some basic info of my tank

My tank net water is about 800l

Running on 6tubes T5

Oversize bk300 internal skimmer

Temp at 26° to 27°

Salinity 1.026/ 33ppt

2L reactor for ultralith stone

2 fr. 1 for for ultraphos aluminium based.

Another one for activated carbon.Changing to ultra Carb or Carb L after i use up my current one have not read and decided which one to use. Maybe bro fuel can recommend :P

For me, im still very new to this system,(no nice sps to show) but i am very sure its a wonderful system that works for my friend(beautiful and deep color sps) and many other reefer. I am very sure give enough time i would be able to achieve that kind of colors :)

I started balling light method for about 1mth and ultralith for 3weeks.

Past 1 - 2 weeks i notice that u have to keep scrabing my tank wall every other day and notice algae looking stuff growing on rocks but wasnt sure if they were algae, diatom or bacterial. Tot it was an overdose of Ultrabak and or MinS and was trying to reduce dosing but it didnt help.

One of my friend who actually recommended me ultralith and balling light came to my place and told me it was a diatom outbreak.

He saw the color of my mg looking darker than normal and ask where did i added trace 1 and 2 into.

only then i realise i made a big mistake by adding trace 1(color and growth element) and trace 2(metabolic element) into MG container instead of CA.

I do not know if thats the cause of the diatom outbreak but couldnt figure out where else went wrong. Anyway since it was wrong, i have replaced the whole lot of mg and added trace 1 and 2 into CA container. Did a 10% wc today. Next is to monitor and keep my finger crossed.

I have used the Ultralith system for 16 months and the results become obvious (improved colouration, extended polyp extension, faster growth) from the 3rd month onwards.

Pair the Ultralith system with the 3 bottles of Reef Color Elements and you are on the way to a pretty looking tank, particularly if you keep SPS corals.

Hi bro, i saw your tank pic last year when u won the TOTQ. Very nice sps color. I saw alot of pics of ultralith user having deep color sps.

Are u still using ultralith system?

Not a ultralith user but using balling light 3 bottle trace w topup. So convenient to maintain color, health without manually dosing.

Good choice bro. Look forward to ur sweet tank photo.
