Btw, can saltwater fish last as long as freshwater fish when packed and transport as checked-in baggage? I had brought back 3" cichlids without casualty which are packed and released into tank for closed to 36 hours.

4hrs should be fine. Most direct shipment fishes packed for 8-10hrs flight. Just rmb to tell them to double pack and ensure horizontal or vertical fish still in water.

Does anyone has suggestions whether LED aquarium lights and filter socks and holder are cheaper in HK? Looking for these to equip my 1.5' cube. Thanks.

There should be cheaper. If u have any acrylic diy idea, fish holding box, got two acrylic shop that really offers good price. But got to give them ur design and a few days to make.

I think the local market is somewhat comparable to Hong Kong. The main reason, in my view, why prices are competitive in Hong Kong is due to competitions as most of the LFS are concentrated in the same area. Hence for homogenous products, pricesis the key.

My experience with Hong Kong folks is that a lot of them do keep fishes, fresh water or marine, almost every home has a fish tank despite their small apartment unit. Another reason I was told (I did not verify this) is that the Hong Kong apartment units are designed with 2 sets of water pipes: fresh water for consumption, and salt water for sewage purposes. So it's like they can have a tap for nsw in their house, which makes keeping marine easy. They seems to like big fishes, and the big angels are one of their favorites. That's affirmative as confirmed by my Hong Kong friend and I also sighted a seawater main inlet pipe supply to a building.

The Salifert test kits are priced from HKD 75 north to about HKD 115. Just checked out one shop as limit time to browse the street as usual. As I don't know the different test kit prices locally, did not purchase any.
