Hmmm... Never tried a ro/di unit, hence no idea how resin grading works.

Is it by brand or is there a grade stated on the packaging?

Just different manufacturer using different quality of resins. Apparently there is some sort of difference in resins. For example theres crystal pro, and crystal pro power. Slight cost difference, but the LFS person told me power can last twice as long. No idea if its true. Decided to go for madpetz Zero Resins, seems more straight forward. I'm satisfied with their resins so far.

Also must see ur house tds. Higher tds faster the resin would expire

Just gotta calculate if it's much more expensive in the long run.

Tried out the DIY resin method. It works, however much slower.

30 liters of water, 100 ml of resin.

Original Tds -95

After 4 hrs - 80

After 22 hrs-20

Still keeping the resin flowing to see if it can bring it down to 0.

Flow rate for DIY resin is 400l/hr

thought must pack sardine so all the water can pass through? if tumble it will just slide pass the resin.

Anyone knows how to prevent rowaphos to clump up? My rowa has been clumping restricting the water flow in the reactor to a trickle

Simple, put more flow and less rowaphos, confirm tumble. .... Have you found your 3ft T5 light set? I have some used cheap T5 light sets that I previously used for a year and have ati T5 tubes on them. Got 2 tubes ($40), 3 tubes($60) and 4 tubes($60) type. The plastic cover for the 4 tubes light set is broken though but the light set still function well without the cover. For your width, you will need 6 tubes to have full coverage of the tank. Let me know if interested. No issues colouring up lps, sps and clams

Yeah. Already gotten my lightset. Gonna stick with 4 tubes and maybe add 2 smaller watts halides. Still contemplating.
