What to ADD & CHECK?

hi to all sifus....

I just redo my whole tank again with fresh new water.... i do not have a refugium but i am using bio balls in my sump.... what are the things i should check beside NO2 and NO3?? heard pple saying abt PO4, issit important? and what solutions to add like Bacteria or rowaphos...???hope sifus here understand what i am asking....

take out your bio balls which will result in high N03 later part...

most of all u need to tell us how u going to setup...

if not go amazon to buy some reef book to read to know how to setup..

book like reef secret is quite a gd book for beginner

why bio ball will cause increase in NO3? i tot bio balls help to control the NO2 in the tank.... as well as NO3??? my tank is 24x18x24....

i do not have a DSB but i am using crushed seashells as sandbed plus a sandbed filter.... a small powerhead is connected thru a tube to pump up from the sandbed filter and also act as a wave maker....

i just want to know what things should i check to ensure everything is safe for coral and fish.... like adding what solution.....

Add few layers of sponges on top of bioballs to prevent debris from dropping and trapped on the bio-balls. Occasionally take out the sponges and rinse. That way maybe you wont have a Nitrate factory.

Just my guess........need some "lao jiao" to verify.

well my filtration system is divided into three... first(water come from the overflow) with layers of filter wool and sponge.... second full of bioball... and third a pump to draw water up to main tank, a pump for uv steriliser and a skimmer....

Crushed seashells will trap detritus. beware.....

wat is detritus? how to prevent it but still using crush seashells???

and one thing for a newly setup tank... will PO4 be an issue??? how to prevent PO4 from growing??? thanks for helping... anyone...
