I Run 2X160Watt Maxspects Razor

Im getting afew sps frags from a friend soon..im hoping someone can help me how do i go on placing them? Start at the DSB?..then move up?..i dont want them to bleach..Please Advice Guys..

For sps frag you don't need to move up slowly. Only colony need.

And for colonies, wild ones especially, if u r intending to get them in future, it's better to coral dip them first to prevent introducing pests into ur tank as a primary measure.

For frags from reefer usually what I do is find out where they place the frag and how intensive is their light. From there you can adjust. Sometimes placing on sand bed might make ur Sps lose color as ur light intensity might be lower.

For wild or cultured colonies usually I just place them at the highest.

my levels are A85% B100% for a total of 7 hours daily, you can place the slimer near the top and the birdnest slightly above middle area. that is how they were placed in my tank. glad u liked it!

For frags, I would still check with the reefer his tank kH and acclimatize slowly if the delta is too great between my tank and his/her. For colony, remember to check the base for eggs, scrub them off, coral rx dip wont get rid of pest eggs. I had a tough time battling monti eating nudibranch when the eggs hatches. Lost couple of my fav encrusting montis. For placement I go by sps species. Strong light species will go up and accompanied by higher flow.
