Hi Guys,

Need advise on the following. My 2 ft LED lights has recently had several occasions when it flickers when i turn it on. Sometimes blue lights will light up only very dimly and after sometime goes back to normal. Is it something wrong with adaptor ? Is there such adaptor for sale? Or have to change the whole light set ?

Thank you.

LEDs work with a constant current source. It may be overheating , so try to turn it off for about an hour and turn it back on and see if it fixes the problem. Else you're gonna have to replace the whole light set if the adaptors internal, or replace the adaptor if it's external. Usually constant current supplies are in a large aluminium box external from the light

If you have some knowledge about electronic then I would advice you to open the lightset to check for bad or loose contact and fan workability before change the adapter or whatever action to be taken.

Loose contact should be the case cos then it would just dim and not flicker. Marine LEDs don't work on pwm the last time I checked so they wouldn't flicker because of loose connection

Its a Beamswork 1600 model.

You mean "loose contact should 'not' be the case is it ? So likely to have to change adaptor ?

Side question, would you think this light is actually appropriate for my tank with soft corals like zoas, hammer, mushrooms, GSP ? This beamswork is with 1W LEDs and recently saw a EVO brand with 3W LEDs same price. Just wondering if this EVO may be more appropriate. Thanks.
