Totally Aiptasia free, possible?

Every time I see an Aiptasia in my tank I inject it with concentrated lime juice. That usually kills it. However new Aiptasia will emerge from different locations so every week I have to kill Aiptasia.

Any reef safe way to kill Aiptasia once and for all?

Yo bro!

I am keeping one matte filefish and my tank is aiptasia free.

However, I am not sure if this fish will eat any corals;

so far; it doesn't disturb my mushrooms, plates, torch, leather.

Cheers!

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

Bro the only way to do aiptasia free is to start with totally dead rock. You get to choose what you wanna put in your tank.

Other than that, i believe there's no way to eradicate them totally even with chemical or natural predator.

My 2 cents.

Erikokelf..not true. I have a bunch of berghia nudi and my heavy infested aiptasia breeding tank got wipe off. I need to purchase aiptasia just to keep them alive.

Yup i understand that part on using berghia nudi to eat up the aiptasia but try removing them and you will see how they break lose again.

I have try before using your method but i don't see it viable to buy aiptasia just to keep them alive after they finish up the visibles one.

There are just too many hidden one that we don't see with naked eyes and they will reappear once your berghia have been removed.

Where can I get berghia nudis? Just wondering if the population is self-limiting based on availability of aiptasia... Will it get out of control and become a nuisance?

Berghia nudi only eat aiptasia. They will die without aiptasia. Got it long ago from lck. No longer avail as far as i know. Currently breeding and have small amount for sale from time to time (no stock for now)

I recently saw berghia nudi being sold at New Trio. I think one is $35... I felt it was quite pricey so didn't buy

My Chaetodon lunula keeps the reef Aiptasia and Majano.free, also tube-worm free! So there is a trade off. A. tormentosa file fish can be very effective, as well, but I have found them difficult to get feeding once the anemonies are gone. The C. lunula will eat pellets like a pig! Doesn't go for corals in my experience, but each fish is different (generally depends where it was caught).

Better to buy Aiptasia X and kill them yourself!

Haha I think so too! :P However I guess the benefit of berghia nudis is that their small size enables them to crawl into crevices and literally nip the aiptasia problem in the bud. Apparently they don't harm coral and population is controlled by aiptasia availability. Sounds too good to be true? Anyone with experience to share? $35 for one tiny nudi (1cm) seems very ex....!!! Also if no aiptasia they will die off and have to be replaced in the future if need be.
