Hi bro/sis,

i am new to this hobby, anyone can share with me

What height is good for a new reef tank for a new reefer?

i currently have a 3ft high tank but doubt i should use the whole height.

any suggestions? :D

Cheers

Wow 3ft deep..its good for FOWLR..its nice for reef tank too..but got to get very good lighting for corals..note that deep tank difficult to maintain too..do look ard at members tank specs to decide for urself..deep got its nice, shallow got its nice too..welcome to reefing

Hi guys,

ya it would be really nice for FOWLR!

But i am really in this for all the beautiful corals!! ;)

ya. really depends on what i want right?

ya i would love to see other reefers tank specs. but any idea where i can go looking fo them? :)

but i guess 1.5-2 ft is a good height?

i want this system to be as easy to maintain as possible with the equ i have.

can LED reach down say 2.5 ft of water?

or only metal halides would be able to do the job?

thanks so much guys for ypur repllies!!

My tank is 2.5ft deep. Sick of getting my whole arm and shoulder wet whenever I wanna do Maintenence. I almost fell into the tank once because was reaching for a frag at the back of the tank. Lucky my worker grab my ladder and leg lol

Thats why 2ft or less is best for corals (: 2.5fr and higher is really troublesome and hard to maintain. Need v.v.strong lighting too.
