A lot of long black shit on sandbed

Didn't have this problem before. Only surfaced when I added a jewel damsel, which has since died. But this problem persists.

I don't use a wavemaker, tank is a 2 by 1.5 by 1.5

current livestock:

Pair of true percula

Six line wrasse

Royal gramma

Azure damsel

Yellow tail damsel

Bi colour blenny

Handful of nassarius snails

Can't be the nassarius snails that are producing all that crap right?

Any solutions?

The wonder of marine I suppose. For fresh water u wouldn't get this. Guess u have a white sand bed and find it awful for the black stuff. Maybe some organisms grow and poo. Fishes also poop in long strings. When they grow big, poo gets bigger too. If u r really concerned of this, probably u need to arm yrself a red color flashlight n camp in front of tank at night to see who contributed the poo. Just let nature take its course if the poo producer is not a pest. Can get sand stars to get rid of the poo though they might not target feed on every drop of them.

Any pic?..nassarius snail will leave a long line on the sand sometime..but its whitish in colour not black.. btw, if really is the fish poo on the sand n dun drift away, that mean there's not enough flow in ur tank..cheers

Ammonia/NO3/NO4 test? Could be a nasty bloom hurting your fish.

I would say that the problem is with no wave maker. Usually this kind of shit gets blown off the sand when there is water movement

incrase you Water Flow...Will Alow /Poop/Dirt Just Fly Into Your Overflow and to your skimmer..

yes, added a jebao wp25, and my sand looks so clean now, best 75 bucks i ever spent.
