Hi guys , some Im keeping a few LPS corals and Im probably gonna start dosing Cal , Alk and Magnesium very soon . I see that the popular choices of these supplements are Calcium chloride , magnesium chloride and so on .. So my question is , after the corals absorb in the calcium / magnesium ions , where does the chlorine ions go to ?

Mgcl and cacl will react with carboonate or bicarbonate to form mgco3 and caco3 respectively. This leaves behind cl which will create ionic imbalance. Nacl will form when

you add baking powder to react with those cl.
