If the livestock in ur tank is happy n growing well, dun need to change so much water..ard 10% will do..water left for 3 days with circulation?..if no, it will b still water n will become stale IMO..tap water can add dechlorinator b4 use..if u really scare of chlorine, leave the water overnight shd suffice.. SRC Member kenyee Posted January 27, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Very nice n detailed setup.. One thing puzzled: the return pipe why so many bends at the top part..tot more bends will reduce the pressure..anyway, nice n neat piping work..cheers Quote @ 291213 Updated video: Kenyee FOWLR http://m.youtube.com/my_videos
SRC Member [V]tEc Posted January 27, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Thinking to do wc 20% monthly using salt mix with tap water (keep for 3days to remove chorine)and running ats (200mm*200mm).Any comment? What do u intend to keep? If coral tank, 5 to 10% weekly is better. If fowlr, if load is heavy, change more. For my tank, i change 50% every 2 weeks. Tap water i mix with prime and add salt. Change water on the same day.
AroDan
Good to see all different parts of the tank setup coming together. WC every 2 weeks is better. new fresh salt water.

SRC Member kenyee Posted January 27, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 should I use filtersock if running ats. ATS is interesting..pls share pics of ur ats setup.. I use refugium instead.. Filter sock is good to use n its a fail safe way for polishing the water..but regular cleaning/changing is required if not will become nitrate factory.. There's a lot of different setup..depend on what u keep n what u want.. cheers Quote @ 291213 Updated video: Kenyee FOWLR http://m.youtube.com/my_videos
Bacteria
Really nice workmanship..like to ask where u buy the raw material?pre-cut wood or cut urself?..thanks All carpentry material can shop at sungai kadut . For the plywood they sell 4feet by 8feet but u need to cut urself.
