1. the grey PVC pipe is the water level of the tank, is for air in-take to the container (when level go low)

2. the pump pipe is the out put

3. important tips all joined, glue area and container have to be air tight.

just a thought... wouldn't the salt diffuse into the water container and dilute the whole tank? Our objective of a water top-up is to maintain salinity. If diffusion is not stopped, we might as well pour the whole bucket of water into the tank in the first place. Maybe the addition of check valve may work...

I used this method before... for my nano... very easy to DIY only problem is making sure the container is completely airtight and doesn't warp under negative pressure...

yes... that why i used HARD plastic container.

original nurce is made of acrylic

I have a question about this setup guys , will i need to pull up the output hose from the water each time i top up the container? cuz once you open the container for refilling air will enter and all the remaining water will flow out isn't it?
