Anyone tried feeding your fishes with "see hum"?

Recommended Posts

U'd be better off using the green mussels, scallops and clams sold at the local wet markets. The last time I hrd of cockles being used was by the Primary Production Department to breed long-clawed freshwater crayfish. It goes something like this: First chop up the meat. Next wash off the blood. After that, use a sieve to separate the finely cut up stuff before feeding according to size of the crayfish. N one needs to remove the leftovers not to mention the waste matter of the crayfish.

If 4 fishes, such a situation is a big advantage for an ich outbreak (my opinion n past exp.)

Good day.

Its better dun try..there's no any good to feed ur fish all this food..most or all nutrition fish needed can b found in dry fish food aka pellet/flakes..feeding them this raw food might pollute the water n cause sickness to ur fish..better be safe then sorry..happy reefing

There is risk with the use of frozen food. So far so good with me and I think the fishes do enjoy them over processed food. I prefer to give them a balance which I'm already doing, giving them frozen and dry food daily. I guess it's a matter of variety for trying to introduce see hum which may or may not provide additional nutrition to the fishes. Just like for dwarf angels, their natural diet comprise mainly of sponges but we replace that with dry food. Are they still getting the right balance of nutrition? Maybe. I'm just trying to see if anyone tried and like to know the results.

Your sea hum will make your water really dirty...

I second that..do that at ur own risk..do note that dirty water will result in tank crash..water change often if u dun mind..cheers

Would love to see the list soon. I get my frozen food from Henry's. His gourmet kelp thingy. My clowns, damsel and wrasse loves it. Clowns are like pigs now. Haven got much fishes yet to feed and know if other fishes like it.

It's like $15 a box and last me quite long cause of my low fish count. But if can save and DIY my own food without much hassle it will be great. Lol.

= so i go down to the market and get scallops, large raw whole shrimp, squid, mussels, clams and crab.

add in a couple of the small cloves of garlic, carrots and broccoli

wet some nori sheets down in RO water(Nori without flavour)

throw it all in the blender/food processor and blend it into a paste.

lay down a cookie sheet with aluminum foil over the top, pour the paste onto the sheet then push a section of egg crate the same size as the cookie sheet into the paste to divide them all up and stick em in the freezer. let freeze, remove from freezer and poke out all the squares so will look like mysis cubes. or put them in a freezer ziplock or ice tray's

6 months worth of food for 10- 15 bucks and quite possibly the best for the fish too..but i only feed this food 2xweekly otherwise its just NLS.

just don't add any oily fish like salmon to the recipe, cod are ok if they are gotten cheap

new anthias has gone crazy for this stuff.

adding Selcon Will also boost health of your fishes :).

Its called the Hassle Recipe LOL!
