250~400W(max) Metal Halide for sales

If mounted in hood, would suggest a square metal tube as a spacer in between the light housing and the wood. The housing gets very very hot. And should take out the control gear, add to the heat and very heavy!! Just a suggestion.

I tot of using it on my tank 3 months ago.... I bought two 10K BLV bulb 250W from Paraxxxx reef and Wow! the coral open even BIGGER... I tested for 2 days before I use it for the project....

I went to thomas(Oceax Pacxxx) and saw him mount the heavy ballast on top of the lighting hood...so I am thinking of doing that in the near future....got to keep 2 sets for myself...

What kind of ballasts does it have and what kind of bulbs can it run?

I hope you're getting rid of 2nd hand units (and I'm not gonna ask you how you got hold that many sets)... so it better be a good deal for hobbyists here as I am allowing this 'bordering on commercial' thread to carry on in the mean time.

I personally think it is big and definitely be heavy, might not be too suitable to place on top of hood unless you have a good support. But if you dismantle everything and just make a Aluminium reflector to hold the bulbs and place the ballasts elsewhere (maybe on the ground or inside the cabinet), $80 is a good buy and a good start for cheapo ppl like us who dont wan to waste hundreds or thousands of dollars on equipments.

Err.... no... sorry... as a newbie, I used a similar cheap industrial MH set as my first MH... regretted it immediately as the output is very poor compared to those proper aquarium pendants even though its the same wattage.

(Its still sitting in my cupboard... james72, if you want it, I'll let you have both for $50. )

I then bit the bullet and bought an Aquamedic Aquasunlight 150w x2 DE pendant and it was fabulous for my LPS tank then.

Of course now, I have my own DIY 400w x 4 spiderlight SE light rail system for my SPS.

:-P lights belong to AT not me. I need two sets of MH leh. One set not enuff for me leh. Although my current 150W MH pendant already shown some whitish growth on the polyps of my acros frags and maintaining the colors in just a few days. But I wan to make sure they grow good.

A bit out of topic, sps need how many hrs of MH lightings per day?
