Help !! Mushrooms melting

tank size 5ft , no2 0.1 , pho4 0.25 , sg 1.023 , kh 9 ,

lights 2x250w MH + 2 actinics , MH on for 10hrs & actinics

12hrs .

The prob only occurs on those meaty ms , Those "thin"

ms are ok so far .

Could the prob be causes by crabs or bristleworms ??Or do

ms need special high dosage of certain minerals?? :huh:

Looks bad. Might be copper or heavy metals. What other invertebrates to you have in the tank?

If your shrimps are alive then it's not copper.

Run polyfilter and some carbon. Wait and see what happens.

I think I am facing this problem too. It will starts by releasing so slimy things and then slowly dissolved. But ironically, other coral like branches, jewel, leather jacket and star props are very healthy.

Mine is a 6 feet tank with 3 pail water changed every two weeks. PH, Ca, KH is at health level. I also couldn't figure out whats wrong?

This is how it look when I just brought it. I'll take a pictomorrow to show you all the miserable state it is now tomorrow when the lights is on.

Another possible.,did u or when u add any solution to the main tank, those unresolved particle landed on the mushroom's surface?

2ft cube with 2.5 sump

400w MH with 6 x 24w blue T5

Hydor wavemaker controller

Aquatronica controller

Daikin compressor with double coil

RM CR

H&S out sump skimmer

Hi all,

I have the same problem too. I thought I arrange the Live rock and accidentally tear one of the big ones. But notice any rock with these big mushrooms melting too.

Could it been the light source? I pick them quite near to the water surface? But some of them survive and growing well. very strange.
