finally got my power blue and power brown...

put both fish in together and to my surprise...

they r like long lost brother... living happily together...

even my blue tang whom have been hiding also come out and play...

so far no fighting.. but alittle game of chasing... but not that very much chasing is done....

and all eating like a pig when i feed them...

what a relief...

try using my Marine Source Skimmer (1000L) form Octopus Bay for my first time and it dont work... the pump proof to be not working...

Request from Octopus Bay to kindly come over to replace for me or check out the skimmer problem.. but he find my place too far... :( so dont want to come over...

got quite angry about the after sale service..<_< but then luckily one of my fren will be helping me bring it down to have it replace.. so see if they r going to replace the pump for me since I make changes to the plug to be those 3-pin plug type which is much safer...

cause me quite abit of trouble and my tank for 2 weeks is still going without skimmer. Do my best to control feeding so as not to crash the tank as it's still new.

I'm been so busy with work, personnel stuff and this fish tank... end up I hardly sleep these few days....

O ya I have been using 1300L/h pump to drive my 1.25 TR chiller...

wonder should I upgrade the pump.. as it took about 3-4 hours to bring down 1 degree...

then it will stop the whole nite.. so from what I see the chiller only running twice a day.. morning and nite only...

is this gd enough or the number of hour for the chiller to cool down 1 degree is far too long..

My tank's size is 3 x 2.5 x 2 using 0.5hp which I found it's insufficient now and planning for upgeading again. Sigh...shouls have taken the 1.25 to save more on electric $$$

Why do you think that 1.25hp will save more electricity than 0.5hp? Just because it runs shorter period of time? The 1.25hp will consume a lot more electricity when it runs eventhough it may run fewer hours. So what is matter is the total KWh, which in my opinion will work out to be the same for the 1.25hp and the 0.5hp.

The only thing is that the 0.5hp will have higher usage and more easy to breakdown.

Alan,

What does argonite sand do and is it worth the money since it is so much more expensive than normal sand? For your tank size, what is the recommended kg required?

Thanks,

Patrick

argonite sand help standize your tank condition.

There is no recomemented vol of argonite sand need... the only issue is how much u willing to spend..

I have know of a guy who use totally 130++ kg of argonite sand for his 5ft tank...

finally have my auto-water top up completed and working...

As for my Marine Source skimmer... dam sainz.. have the pump repair and seem to be working..

but let it runnning for a week.. the skimmer is not foarming...

Get angry with the lousy and high watt Atman pump that come with the skimmer...

Today go over to petmart and got my ehiem 1262... much more powerful pump compare to Atman and have it modifed to fit into the Marine Source Skimmer...

within hours I got some foarm showing.. let's hope tomorrow night when I'm back home can see black black coffee...

Still searching for needle like stuff to have my ehiem 1262 modifed into a neddle wheel pump...
