Trying out a new filter media today. I am impressed how light the new media is when I hold it, and it's capacity to be able to cater to tank up to 250 gallon with just one single cube/ per gallon.

What make me so interested in trying out this new media is apart from removing ammonia , nitrite it has the ability to reduce N03 which many usual biological media couldn't.

Just measured my N03 today which is 0.3ppm, hopefully this will help mark another new low reading in my system.

What do you do when your main tank is delicated to SPS and can't keep LPS?

I converted my hospital tank to a delicated LPS tank.

Just to clarify this point, I thought if the water parameter is suitable for SPS, it is definitely suitable for LPS? Or do you mean no more space for LPS in the main tank?

For just one week of use, it is very difficult to see any result yet. But from the feedback I saw from the freshwater forum , they are getting good results.

For sps, most PPL run ultra low nutrients system. And it not suitable for LPS as LPS need those nutrients to grow. Correct me if I'm wrong, still new to reefing

Yes , that is correct as well but not impossible . Just that for keeping LPS in a low nutrient environment, you need to feed more in order for them to do well.

For example zoas grow faster in nutrient rich water, but they wouldn't die in a low nutrient environment.

There is also a different between low nutrient and ultra low nutrient system which some of us employ. Both has its pro and cons.

There is other reason that I choose not to keep more LPS in my main tank, mainly due to my angel fish in my main tank which will nipple or eat them up.

Moreover, some of the coral requirement is different for LPS and SPS . SPS required stronger flows and lighting in order to be happy while some LPS cannot within strong lighting and strong water current.

Setting up my daily auto dose of coral foods today.

key ingredients included;
5 In one coral food
Zeovit coral vitalizer
Polylab reef Roids

Dosing is set to dose in the middle of the night as that is when most of the coral is in feeding mode.

Some of the food like reef roid and coral vitalizer do no need to be refrigerated but my room is running on aircon most of the time so I feel should be OK.
