Hi senior reefers,

I made a huge mistake while water changing.

as i was siphoning out water, the tubing into my pail fell out and was spilling water all over the floor. Im my panic, i put back the tubing into the pail but... at the same time, the rigid siphon tube in the tank managed to suck onto one of my hammer coral's head. Quite a few 'hammers' got sucked out. The head is not entirely 'hiding' but its like the hammers are just missing.

Will the hammer eventually heal from such an injury? Or is it done for?

Thanks in advance!

Yup! I just placed it in a lower flow area. At this time, SEEMS to be on the road to recovery.

Oh wow... for that to happen to you anemone must be very heartpain.. Did not know the anemone's tentacles are that fragile..

Thank you for your tip bro!

Oooh cannot leh.. I dont have a separate tank.. I wish i have!

Anyway since im here can update... Its completely healed! Opens full and eating.

If this happens to anybody, dont have to panic. Just keep water constant and it will heal itself :) and ALWAYS keep your eyes on the suction pipe when you water change.
