please comment on my intended system

hi to all my tank is 3 by 1.5 by 2 . i have intended to have a plenum system in my main tank . ( plenum will be 1 inch high with 2 inch of grade 3 sand then follow by a netting than 2 inches of grade 1 sand ) is there anything wrong with my plenum ( please provide comment)

then in my sump i having a deep sand bed 5 inches of grade 1 sand.

yes for me.. I have my plenum with 4-5" of grade 1 or 0 forget already...

for yrs and it's doing great... help reduce skimmer load too..

but it will be best workable unless u got alot of sandbed expose to water and not cover by LR..

yah i will be constructing a reef rack. haha lucky found a plenum pro to help me out ... but the plenum is 1 inch high can or not? so total plenum plus sand is 5 inch.

i dun use plenum. i'm using 6 inch DSB grade 0 70% & grade 1 30% in main tank. suggest u use yr sump for refugium instead of DSB. too small a space for DSB will not be effective. IMO.

well plenum is a gd method combine with DBS.. like i mention u need to have more expose sandbed to gain the adv.

i u use purely DBS allow.. their is always a chance that it might crash.. as mention by some..

yes plenum is 1 inch high is just right.. and with around 4-5inches thick sandbed u r gd to go...

my final decision is a deep sand bed for 4 inch ( grade 1 ) in my main tank and a plenum system in my sump ... and powered by a weipro 2014 ? so will my tank work ?

well it's not a matter or work or not..

it will work but to how efficient..

having the plenum in the sump will be of not much use.. since the area give is so small..

since u r not going to put it in the main tank.. u can forget about using plenum...

A safer bet would be 5 inches.

5 inches looks funny in my tank... cause the height of tank is ony 2 feet

I mean that a 4 inch DBS will work but deeper the better... Think you misunderstood... Empty space huh... Put Macroalgae lor...

oic.. how amount increasing from 10 cm to 12 cm for my DSB ?but heard DSB after long time will crash is it true ?
