Orange and grey sediments in my refugium

Anybody know what these are in my refugium? Orange looking algae in my mechanical filtration and grey stuff in my live rock and sand section. Need help identifying and whether they need to be removed.

What are the equipments you have in your tank. Any lights shining for the first pic? The grey stuff looks like its from the piping. Is this setup new?

Yeah just a normal led. Setup has been for about a month now. Used normal PVC piping for the overflow portion into the refugium.

If the orange or the brown stuff are mostly on the top of the substrate, it could be diatoms. They are usually brown but yours is orange. As for they grey stuff, not really sure what it is as i have never seen it before. Any corals or live stock died recently?

A snail died recently. Nothing else of note. I'm starting to think if it is part of the activated carbon I put in. My filter wool that is directly below the carbon is totally grey as well. But strange that it appears now and not when I first put it in.
