Around 20 to 30 dollars. Shop is at B1 of sim lim tower, name is Acez Instruments.

Probe brand is Fox.

I think the Fox probe is about 70 to 80 bucks. Remember to get the plastic probe n not the metal.

why not metal? and will I have to do any DIY or already set up?

I think metal will rust in the long run so I suggest getting plastic. Yes, you need to diy the set.

hey all,

am looking for an external temp probe for my hailea 500.

did some search and found a few ways to mod the chillers for an external temp probe.

1) direct mod on the chiller, to remove its default probe and attached an external probe connected directly to the chiller.

works by kicking in and off the chiller directly, setting the temp on the chiller itself.

2) use an external temp controller which the chiller is plugged into.

works by cutting the power supply to the chiller with chiller set to its lowest possible temp (as the chiller default probe is still intact).

is my understanding of the external temp probe correct?
