Calcium pills for clams

i don't think they actually feed on calcium. they shld be taking in calcium from the water column. i suggest maintaining the calcium level is the way to go.

Hmm... This is a very interesting question. IMO I think the composition of those pills meant for human consumption is different from those meant for the aquarium. But I think maybe a Vet can answer this question. It'll be good and a whole lot cheaper if both types of calcium is compatible.

Ya I was just thinking of it when I will at Ah Beng shop looking at some clams and thought that if I can use those calcium pills it would be good.

Bro what you mean by calcium additives? In what form? Where can I get them?

Sorry, I'm very new to clam keeping.

why use calcium supplements intended for humans?

firstly these are crazy expensive to use long term for dosing. also the pills are 99% inert substances and the actual calcium content is way lower than what is required for clams. human body don't need so much calcium.

just buy calcium additives from LFS. a ton cheaper.
