Using Canister as a sump

seem like setting up a sump or adopt DSB for a 2ft is rather impractical. Unless got a 3ft and above or have cabinet to keep the sump.

Was wonder if any of you guy actually of thinking using the canister as a sump ?

Say like for those 2 tray one like jebao 3012, use only 1 tray and adopt a DSB filtration setup underneath it.

Think some of the guy might have already tried, any comments ?

i guess for me using a canister is also gd but some would say its not better than a sump filter

maybe can try to use ehiem filter they are quite gd

It will not work. The purpose of a deep sand bed is to create an anoxic zone below. With water flowing thru the canister, the sand bed will always be permeated by water. No anoxic zone will develop.

yap i guess this is where a sump is far better than a canister filter rite fuel?

Dunno...im using both. Canister just to hold my chemical resins and to act as another current maker.
